It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Delores June Rowland, affectionately known as Dee, on March 26, 2026. Born on November 17, 1947, in the quaint town of Freeport, IL, Dee's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the joy of family and friendship.
Dee was the beloved daughter of George and Marion (Winche) Williams, who instilled in her the values of compassion and strength. She was predeceased by her dear parents, her sister Jean (Carl) Stocker, and her brother Roger Williams. Though we mourn their loss, we find solace in the thought of their reunion.
A proud graduate of Leaf River High School, class of 1965, Dee embarked on a fulfilling career at Quebecor, where she worked from 1979 until her retirement in 2008. Her dedication and hard work were exemplified in her roles, initially in binding/finishing and later within the office, where she forged lifelong friendships and left an indelible mark on those she worked alongside.
In 1997, Dee found her soulmate in Deane Rowland, and they married on November 7th of that year. Together, they shared a life rich with love, laughter, and adventures, including their cherished time on the golf course. Dee's passion for sewing, her knack for finding the perfect item while shopping, and her unwavering dedication to family gatherings were just a few expressions of her vibrant spirit and zest for life.
Dee's legacy is carried forward by her sons, Jeff (Laurie) Burke and Darren (Tammy) Burke, as well as her stepchildren, Christy (Andy) Egyed and Dale (Jen) Rowland. Her love and wisdom extend to her many adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever treasure her stories, hugs, and the warmth of her kind heart.
Known for her fiery redhead personality, Dee was a beacon of love and kindness. Her laughter could light up a room, and her generous spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a devoted friend whose loyalty and compassion knew no bounds.
A celebration of Dee's life will take place on April 1, 2026, at Finch Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Sunset Golf Course and Serenity Hospice, organizations close to Dee's heart.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shared in Dee's journey, offering a special message: "Dee was so loved by her family and many friends and will be missed, until we meet again."
As we gather to honor a life so beautifully lived, we remember Dee not with tears of sorrow but with smiles of gratitude for the love she shared and the memories she leaves behind. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
