It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Delores Jean Williams, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, on April 1, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love and warmth of her cherished family. Delores was born on February 26, 1942, in the close-knit community of Inkster, Michigan, to the late John and Frances Anderson.
Throughout her life, Delores was known for her radiant smile and the warmth that seemed to envelop everyone she met. Her kindness and generosity touched countless lives, creating a lasting impact that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A graduate of Inkster High School, Delores pursued a fulfilling career as a coordinator and instrument technician at Harper and Detroit Receiving Hospital. There, she dedicated her time and skills until her well-deserved retirement. Delores' commitment to her work was paralleled only by her devotion to her family and community.
Delores was an active and devoted member of the Mount Zion and Fountain of Truth Churches, where she found solace and joy in her faith. Her warm presence and dedication to her church communities were a testament to her unwavering spirit and belief in the power of love and fellowship.
Her love for life was evident in the simple pleasures she cherished. Delores found joy in dancing, a pastime that allowed her to express her vibrant spirit. She was also an avid Bid Whist player, often engaging in spirited games with family and friends. Crossword puzzles were another of her delights, providing her with the mental challenges she so enjoyed. Above all, Delores treasured the moments spent with her family, creating memories that will be held close in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Delores is survived by her devoted son, Jerome, and his fiancée , Elonda, who were constants in her life, providing her with love and support. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Anthony, Sean, Jazmyn, Allen, Naomi, Delanyo, and Je'kyi, and her great-grandchildren: Karter, Cavalier, and Adian. Delores also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, who will remember her fondly. She is now reunited in eternal peace with her parents, John and Frances; her sisters, Jackie and Francine; her brother, Freddy; her ex-husband, Eddie Williams; and her beloved daughter, Lisa Anderson.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Delores' life, in accordance with her family's wishes. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love and memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
As we say goodbye to a remarkable woman who enriched our lives, we carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity. Delores Jean Williams' life was a testament to the profound impact one person can have on the world, and her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
