It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Delfa Hawks, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and cherished friend. Delfa passed away peacefully at her home on July 9, 2026, at the age of 92. Her long and fulfilling life was a testament to her strength, compassion, and enduring love for her family and community. Delfa was born on January 13, 1934, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Mike and Edna Castilo. From a young age, she was imbued with the values of kindness, patience, and service to others, qualities that would define her throughout her life. Delfa's gentle spirit touched everyone she met, and her unwavering dedication to her loved ones was evident in everything she did. Delfa found her calling as a Nurse's Aide, dedicating many years to caring for the residents of Anadarko. Her nurturing nature and genuine concern for others left a lasting impact on those she served. Delfa's work was not just a profession but a reflection of her generous heart and commitment to helping others. A devoted member of St. Patrick's Church in Anadarko, Delfa's faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and solace throughout her journey. Her involvement in the church community was a source of joy, and she cherished the friendships and spiritual fulfillment it brought her. In her leisure time, Delfa found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for jigsaw puzzles, which she approached with the same patience and diligence that she applied to all aspects of her life. Her garden was a testament to her love for nature, and she took great pride in nurturing the vibrant blooms that filled her yard. Delfa also enjoyed relaxing in front of the television, finding comfort in the stories that unfolded on the screen. Delfa was a kind and loving soul who always put her family first. She was never one to succumb to anger and was never seen to shed a tear. Her resilience and positive outlook were a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength. Delfa was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Hawks, and her sons, David and Donald Hawks. She is survived by her beloved son Bob Valdez, her son Daniel Hawks, and her dear sister Mary Creech. Delfa also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, who will carry her memory in their hearts. A service to honor and celebrate Delfa's life will be held on July 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Fellowship, located at 301 West Kansas, Anadarko, Oklahoma. Family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched are warmly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Delfa's memory to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to her generous spirit and lifelong dedication to helping others. Delfa Hawks will be remembered for her boundless love, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering strength. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
