In Loving Memory

Delbert Wayne Stone
December 14, 1957 — February 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Delbert Wayne Stone, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. Delbert departed this world peacefully at his home on February 1, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on December 14, 1957, in the close-knit town of Porterville, California, Delbert's life was a testament to love, service, and unwavering dedication to his family and country.
Delbert's journey was one marked by service and devotion. At a young age, he answered the call to serve his country, dedicating six formative years to the military. From 1974 to 1980, Delbert served with honor and distinction, spending his first four years in the National Guard and his last two years in the Army. His commitment to his fellow servicemen and women was matched only by the deep pride he took in his role, a pride that he carried with him throughout his life.
Family was the cornerstone of Delbert's world. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Steve Stone, Becky Stone, and Noah Stone, each of whom he raised with love, wisdom, and a strong sense of integrity. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, James Stone and Asher Marr, who were the apple of his eye, and through them, two great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy in his later years.
Delbert possessed an innate ability to connect with those around him, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met. His gentle spirit, kind heart, and infectious laughter could brighten even the darkest days. He was a storyteller at heart, often regaling family and friends with tales from his life, each story filled with humor, warmth, and a lesson for those who listened.
A man of simple pleasures, Delbert found happiness in the quiet moments—whether it was tending to his garden, enjoying a good book, or engaging in spirited debates with friends over a cup of coffee. His home was a sanctuary of love and laughter, a place where everyone felt welcome and cherished.
Though Delbert has left this earthly realm, his spirit and the love he shared remain with us always. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he led, a life filled with love, courage, and an unwavering dedication to those he held dear.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out with love and support during this difficult time. In honor of Delbert's wishes, a private family memorial will be held to celebrate his life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a veterans' charity of your choice, in memory of Delbert's service and commitment to his country.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Delbert. You will forever be in our hearts, guiding us with your love and light.
