Delane Wynes-Johnson
November 23, 1965 — May 30, 2026
It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Delane Wynes-Johnson, affectionately known as Lisa, who departed this world peacefully at her home on May 30, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on November 23, 1965, in Macon, Georgia, Lisa was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her.
Lisa was the cherished daughter of the late Grace and Robert Lee Wynes. She was predeceased by her beloved children, Alex Franklin and Christopher Wynes Sr., whose memories she held dear every day of her life. Her heart was forever bound to her surviving family, including her devoted husband, Jimmy Johnson, with whom she shared a beautiful union since their wedding on February 9, 1999. Together, their hearts beat as one, creating a life filled with love and laughter.
Lisa's legacy continues through her surviving children: Jeffery Harris Jr., La’Quez Wynes, Brittany Wynes, Jardeshae Wynes, and Dalequasha Johnson. She was also a doting grandmother to Gabryelle Harris, Christyanna Wynes, Cody Jackson, Traevius Nesbitt Jr., Nevaeh Wynes, Ja’mari Wynes, Dy’mir Wynes, Christopher Wynes Jr., Jamaya Hunter, and Saniyah Wynes. Her siblings, Beverly Wynes Williams (Dexter), Melvin Wynes, Iris Wynes, Tracy Rainey (Nora), Stacy Wynes, Cedric Wynes, Eric Wynes, Melissa Wynes, and Kamara Wynes, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, will forever cherish her memory.
Educated in the Bibb County Public School Systems, Lisa possessed a wisdom and warmth that transcended her formal education. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, as she had an extraordinary ability to bring people together and offer comfort and guidance. Known for her infectious laughter and vibrant spirit, Lisa was truly the life of the party, spreading joy wherever she went.
Though she was blessed with seven biological children, Lisa’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family. She was a mother to many, embracing each child who entered her home with unconditional love and acceptance. Her home was a haven of warmth, where every child felt like her own.
Lisa delighted in life’s simple pleasures, cherishing moments spent laughing, sharing stories, enjoying music, and offering the best advice. Her caring nature and compassionate heart left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
A celebration of Lisa's remarkable life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, located at 996 Oglethorpe St, Macon, Georgia 31201. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor a woman whose life was defined by love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Lisa Wynes-Johnson’s departure leaves a void in our hearts, but her spirit will forever inspire us to love deeply, laugh often, and live fully. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten, as her legacy of love continues to flourish in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
