November 11, 1952 — July 18, 2026

In loving memory, we honor the life of DeeAnn Carol McCarthy, who passed away peacefully after a short illness. Born on November 1, 1952, in Brookings, South Dakota, DeeAnn graced the world with her gentle spirit and boundless love for those around her. DeeAnn was the cherished daughter of David and Darlene Rud. She grew up with her brothers, Douglass, David and her sister Dianne. Her brother Daniel, who, along with their parents, predeceased her. DeeAnn’s journey through life was marked by her devotion to family, compassion for others, and a zest for life that left a lasting impression on all who knew her. On March 7, 1975, DeeAnn married the love of her life, Joseph McCarthy, in the picturesque town of Breckinridge, Colorado. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their family, raising seven wonderful children: Shawn (Rhiannon), Patrick (Dusty), Brian, Neil, Megan, Kenny, and Corey. DeeAnn showered her children with love, teaching them the values of kindness and resilience. Tragically, Corey passed away on June 29, 2023, leaving a void in the family’s heart that will never be filled. DeeAnn’s legacy of love continues through her grandchildren, Glen, Cailey, and Brooke. Her eyes would light up with joy when she spoke of them, and her heart swelled with pride for each of their accomplishments. A graduate of Cheyenne High School, DeeAnn possessed a bright and curious mind. She was known for her warmth and generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community. A memorial service to celebrate DeeAnn’s life will be held on August 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Fort Collins, Colorado. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of DeeAnn, honoring the beautiful life she lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in DeeAnn’s memory, continuing her legacy of compassion and kindness. DeeAnn Carol McCarthy will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light to those she loved. May she rest in eternal peace.
