In Loving Memory
Dee Farris White
October 8, 1923 — March 25, 2026
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Dee Farris White, who peacefully departed this world on March 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 8, 1923, in Kansas City, Kansas, Dee graced this earth for 102 remarkable years, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those he cherished.
Dee was the beloved son of Charles Gilbert White and Minnie Mabel Farris, and he shared his early years with a sister and a brother who have predeceased him. He is now reunited with them and his dear wife, Mary Lou Conard, whom he met during a fortuitous leave from his military service in World War II. Their love story was one for the ages, culminating in a beautiful marriage on January 17, 1946, that lasted an extraordinary 78 years.
Dee's life was rich with experiences and achievements. He served his country with honor in the Army-Airforce during World War II, stationed in Puerto Rico and later in Germany, contributing to post-war efforts. Upon returning, he embarked on a career in banking, beginning as a bicycle courier for various Kansas City banks and rising to the esteemed position of Vice President and one of the founding officers of Wornall Bank. An entrepreneur at heart, Dee also engaged in numerous small business ventures, always balancing his full-time career with new challenges.
His pursuit of knowledge led him to graduate from high school in Clarence, Missouri, and continue his education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, alongside professional banking training. Dee was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), where he spent many afternoons in the company of cherished friends.
Dee's interests were as varied as they were passionate. As a child, he loved riding horses barefoot and bareback. His love for the water saw him progress from a small fishing boat to a 37-foot cabin cruiser. Cars were another love, owning countless models over the years. Retirement brought him a new passion for golf, a sport he enjoyed until the age of 90. An avid traveler, Dee's charisma often led to free cruises, as he delighted in sharing adventures with family and friends.
Known for his quick wit and infectious laughter, Dee brought joy to every room he entered. His playful spirit often surfaced in the form of silly rhymes, and he was a master storyteller, delighting in both telling and hearing jokes. Above all, Dee was a family man. He adored his children—Cindy (Tedd) Sheets, Patrick (Cindy) White, and Kathleen (Phillip) Nguyen—and took immense pride in his 10 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, always eager to celebrate their successes.
Generosity was at the heart of Dee's character, and he was ever-ready to lend a hand to family and friends in need. His love and support extended to all who knew him, creating a legacy of kindness and compassion.
A service to honor Dee’s life will be held on April 18, 2026, at 3:00 PM at St. Annes Episcopal Church, located at 1815 NE Independence Avenue, Lees Summit, Missouri, 64086. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers who provided him with loving care in his final days.
Dee Farris White lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a tapestry of beautiful memories. His spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.
