Debra Sue Rieger

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debra Sue Rieger, a cherished mother, devoted daughter, loving sister, and adoring grandmother. Debra left this world peacefully on June 9, 2026, at St. Mary's Hospital after a battle with an illness. She was 67 years old. Born on February 14, 1959, in Rifle, Colorado, Debra was a Valentine’s Day gift to her parents, Charles and LaVelle Bottineau. Her life was a testament to love and kindness, qualities that she shared abundantly with those around her. Debra grew up in Leadville, Colorado, where she graduated from Lake County High School in 1977. Her youthful days were filled with the thrill of rodeoing and later in life she enjoyed reading books as well as playing Bingo on her tablet. She was a loving mother to her children, Melinda Rieger Stahl and Christopher Rieger (Dawn), who were her pride and joy. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, Devon, Bailey, Jon, Makala, Triston, and Marishka, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Debra cherished her family deeply, finding joy in their laughter and comfort in their presence. Debra is survived by her beloved mother, LaVelle, her sister, Peggy Thornton, and her brother, Jeff Bottineau. She is reunited in eternal peace with her father, Charles Bottineau, whose love and guidance she cherished throughout her life. To honor Debra's life and the love she shared with so many, a service will be held on June 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church, located at 3133 F Road, Grand Junction, CO 81504. Family, friends, and all whose lives Debra touched are invited to join in celebrating her remarkable journey.
