It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Debra Miller, age 71, of Winston-Salem, on April 16, 2026. Debra passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. Born on October 7, 1954, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Debra was the cherished daughter of the late Glenn F. Kagarise, Sr. and Betty J. Kagarise, who survives her. From a young age, Debra exhibited a deep love for her family and faith, qualities that would become the cornerstone of her life. Debra was a devoted wife to John D. Miller, with whom she shared 53 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered around faith, family, and love. Their home was a haven of warmth and hospitality, where all were welcomed with open arms and full hearts. A loving mother, Debra is survived by her children: Tuesday Briggs and her husband, Arthur Briggs Jr.; her son, Brent Miller; and her daughter, Harmonie Miller. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were gifts she gave freely, and her children carry her teachings in their hearts. Debra was a beloved grandmother to eight grandchildren: Ryan and his wife, Taylor Miller; Dylan and his wife, Courtney Miller; Owen Miller; Nora and her husband, Josh Louer; Hailey Foley; Candice Miller; Ashlynn Miller; and Jayden Miller. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren: Gwen and Dean Miller, Jackson Louer, and Oliver Miller. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Debra's siblings, Glenn and his wife, Cathy Kagarise; Rowdy and his wife, Gaydawn Kagarise; Tammy and her husband, Mike Biddle; Billie and her husband, Dave Greaser; and Robbie and his wife, Julie Kagarise, will remember her as a sister whose love knew no bounds. Her passions in life were many, including gardening, cooking, and baking, but above all, Debra was deeply devoted to her faith. She spent countless hours studying the Bible and sharing her love of Jesus with others. As a prayer warrior, she showed her care for those around her through her encouraging words and compassionate deeds. Her smile, which could light up any room, will be dearly missed but never forgotten. A celebration of Debra's life will be held on April 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Awake Church, located at 3500 Yadkinville Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her memory and the immeasurable impact she had on so many lives. Debra Miller was a beacon of love, generosity, and faith. Her encouraging words, wisdom, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
