In Loving Memory of Debra Johnson
Debra Johnson, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, left this world peacefully on May 27, 2026, in the tender embrace of her loving family. Born on September 12, 1960, in the vibrant city of Memphis, Debra brought a unique sparkle to every life she touched throughout her 65 wonderful years on this earth.
Debra was the cherished daughter of the late Dolly Mae Johnson and Robert Elmo Johnson, who bestowed upon her a strong foundation of love and resilience. On May 25, 1981, she married the love of her life, Michael Johnson, embarking on a journey filled with laughter, adventure, and enduring love. Together, they created a beautiful family and raised two incredible children, Quisha Johnson and Michael Johnson II, whom she adored beyond measure.
A devoted grandmother, Debra found immense joy in the embraces and laughter of her two grandchildren, Trevor and Tatiana Johnson. Her heart was a wellspring of love, and her home was a sanctuary where family gatherings were filled with warmth and joy.
For 25 years, Debra dedicated her life to caring for others as a compassionate nurse. Her career was a testament to her deep empathy and unwavering commitment to the elderly and children she served. Debra's impact extended beyond her professional life as she was an active member of the First Baptist Church for over two decades, offering her time and heart as a volunteer at the local homeless shelter.
Outside her commitments, Debra found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved walking her faithful canine companion, spending cherished moments with her husband, and fishing adventures with her children. Her quick-witted sarcasm, colorful language, and unmistakable laugh made her an unforgettable presence in the lives of all who knew her.
Debra's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice staff of New Tampa Fellowship Homes for their compassionate care in her final days. In the spirit of Debra’s vivacious personality and with a touch of humor she would have loved, they leave you with her favorite phrase: “Shut up before I jack you up.”
A private ceremony will be held to honor Debra’s life, allowing her family to bid farewell in an intimate setting. As we remember Debra Johnson, let us celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and a legacy of kindness that will forever remain in our hearts.
