Born on January 29, 1957, in the charming landscapes of Georgia, Debra was a beacon of light and kindness, embodying the warmth and hospitality for which the South is so well known. She was the cherished daughter of the late William “James” Hayes and Lily Johnson, who undoubtedly welcomed their beloved daughter with open arms as she transitioned into eternal rest.
Debra’s life was a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit. She was a woman of boundless compassion and unwavering dedication to her family, which was the center of her universe. Her love and devotion live on in her son, Jessie Hayes, who was her pride and joy. Jessie, along with his wife, Shannon Hayes, and their two daughters, Meagan and Madison Hayes, were the apples of Debra’s eye. Her granddaughters brought immense joy to her life and she cherished every moment spent with them, passing down her wisdom, stories, and love.

A private service will be held to honor Debra's life, where family and close friends will gather to celebrate the beautiful person she was and the remarkable life she led. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity close to Debra’s heart, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
