Debra Ellen MacDonald
November 26, 1954 — May 27, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Debra Ellen MacDonald, affectionately known as Debbie, who left this world on May 27, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on November 26, 1954, in the charming town of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Debbie's life was a glorious tapestry of love, resilience, and compassion.
From a young age, Debbie found solace and joy in the company of animals, a passion that would define much of her life's work. Her heart's calling was realized at the age of 40 when she fulfilled her lifelong dream of owning horses, experiencing boundless happiness in the gentle rhythm of horseback riding. Her unwavering dedication to the well-being of animals led her to establish the "KITKAT RESCUE AND REFERRAL," where she tirelessly advocated for and rescued countless animals in need. Her legacy of kindness will live on through the lives she touched, both human and animal.
Debbie's professional journey was equally impactful. As an Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Wisconsin, she spent 15 years helping others find their path to recovery, drawing strength from her own journey as she celebrated over a decade of being alcohol and drug-free. Her professional and personal triumphs provided hope to those struggling, and her empathetic nature was a beacon of light to many.
Beyond her professional and philanthropic endeavors, Debbie was a cherished member of her community, known for her infectious laughter and her love for celebrating life's moments. She had an extraordinary gift for bringing people together, always with an abundance of desserts, especially her famous cakes, which she served with love at every gathering. Her warmth and positivity were the bedrock of her relationships, fostering deep connections with family, friends, and their beloved pets.
Debbie was also a talented photographer, capturing the beauty of life's milestones through the lens of her camera. Her business, focused on weddings, portraits, and graduations, allowed her to immortalize precious memories for countless families, leaving a legacy of love and joy captured in each photograph.
A service to honor and celebrate Debbie's life will be held at the Menominee Park Bridge by Animals on May 27, 2026, at 5:25 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice, continuing Debbie's lifelong mission of advocating for those without a voice.
Debbie is survived by her loving family, her cherished friends, and a community that will forever hold her in their hearts. While we mourn her loss, we celebrate the indelible mark she left on this world. Her spirit will continue to inspire acts of kindness and compassion in all who knew her.
Rest in peace, dear Debbie. Your legacy of love, strength, and dedication will continue to make this world a better place.
