In Loving Memory of Debra Buford It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Debra Buford, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to many. Debra left this world on June 3, 2026, at the age of 64, after a most courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by love and the fond memories of family and friends, as she took her final journey from this life. Debra was born on January 9, 1962, in Fresno, California, to Hershey Lee Miles and Robert Earl Patrick. From the very beginning, Debra's presence brought warmth and joy to those around her. Known for her radiant smile and infectious laughter, she had a remarkable ability to lift spirits and bring light to any room she entered. In 1985, Debra married the love of her life, Paris Buford. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Though Paris predeceased Debra, their love story remains a testament to the enduring power of companionship and commitment. Debra dedicated over three decades of her life to serving the community through her work at the IRS in Fresno, California. Her career with the Federal Government was marked by integrity and dedication, and she retired in 2024, due to an unexpected terminal illness, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and kindness that her colleagues will long remember. Outside of her work, Debra had a passion for cooking, a hobby that she used to bring joy to those she loved. Whether it was a family gathering or a quiet evening at home, her culinary creations were always crafted with love and care, reflecting her generous spirit. Debra is survived by her loving son, Christopher Ryan Buford, and her two adored grandchildren, Izabella and Ryan Buford, who were the lights of her life. In addition, she leaves behind a host of extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Her parents, husband, and many close family members who predeceased her, have undoubtedly welcomed her into their eternal embrace. Debra's kindness, quick wit, and readiness with a joke to lighten the mood made her a joy to be around. Her generous spirit and capacity for love left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. In honor of Debra's life and her valiant battle with cancer, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. Your contributions will help further the fight against this devastating illness, in memory of a woman who faced her own battle with immense courage and grace. A private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate Debra's life, allowing her family and close friends to gather in a space filled with love and reflection. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have provided love, comfort, and support during this difficult time. A special thanks to the Compassionate Care Hospice Staff for their excellent care, comfort, support, and guidance. Debra Buford's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and resilience. As we remember her warmth and generosity, let us carry forward her legacy by embodying the love she so freely shared with the world. May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to us all.
