In Loving Memory

Debra Bellinger Rawls
October 15, 1955 — June 30, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Debra Bellinger Rawls, who departed this life peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on June 30, 2026. Born on October 15, 1955, in Constableville, New York, Debra was a beacon of love and laughter to everyone who knew her.
Debra was the cherished daughter of Victor and Hazel Bellinger, who predeceased her, along with her beloved husband, David Rawls, and other dear family members: her brothers William and David, her son James, her grandson Cameron, and her nephew Christopher Bellinger. Despite the sorrow of these losses, Debra's life was a tapestry woven with the love of those who survive her.
She leaves behind her brothers, James and Robert Bellinger, and Robert's wife, Terri; her sisters, Bonnie and Tammy; and her sons, Dominick and Joseph, along with her daughter-in-law, Sarita. Debra was a devoted grandmother to Makayla, Autumn, Joseph, and Haylee, and a great-grandmother to Gianna and Theo, who brought immense joy to her life. Her nieces Karri and Lisa Loomis, nephews Jeffrey Loomis and David Bellinger, and Cousin Michael Bellinger will forever cherish her memory. Debra's circle of love extended to many dear friends, including Linda Inman, Linda Patterson, Gregory Wills, Trevor Judson, and her cherished neighbors at The Buck Apartments, Crystal and Connie.
In 1995, Debra married David Rawls, and together they owned and operated an electrical contractor business in Smyrna, North Carolina, for over a decade. Their partnership in life and work was a testament to their shared dedication and love. Before moving to North Carolina, Debra was an active member of the Hope Alliance Church in New Hartford, New York.
Debra's life was a symphony of music, gardening, and the joy of family gatherings. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, from watching old movies to playing Scrabble online. Her love for animals was as boundless as her love for people, and her home was always open to dogs and cats alike. Known for her quick wit, infectious humor, and warm smile, Debra had a unique ability to make those around her feel loved and valued.
Her selflessness and devotion to others were unmatched. Debra's life was a testament to her faith, and she embraced the world with a heart full of love and gratitude. Her steadfast beliefs and unwavering spirit were the cornerstones of her character, and she will be remembered as a beacon of kindness and strength.
The celebration of Debra's life will take place on July 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Home 2 Suites, located at 119 North Genessee St., Utica, NY. Family and friends are invited to gather and share in the memories of a life well-lived and deeply cherished.
