Deborah Sue Carpenter Daniels

The world became a little dimmer on August 7, 2026, when Deborah Carpenter Daniels, affectionately known as Debbie, Mom, and Nana, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 8, 1952, in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, Debbie was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and unyielding strength throughout her 74 years. Debbie was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee Carpenter and Urshel Sue Johnson Carpenter. She was proceeded in death by her brother, Roger Carpenter, her sister, Julie Carpenter Solar, and her son-in-law, Kevin Barbier. Her legacy, however, lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind: her beloved daughters, Shera Rene' Barbier and Michelle Mondy-Abbott; her adoring grandchildren, Abby Mondy, Kara Lyubushkina (Ilya), Zak Barbier, Ian Barbier, and Austin Abbott; and her siblings, Ricky Carpenter (Diana) and Robin Carpenter (Cathy). Debbie's career as a bookkeeper showcased her meticulous attention to detail, but it was outside sales within the overhead cranes market that she truly excelled and thrived. Her success in this field was a testament to her vibrant personality and zest for life - she never met a stranger, embraced travel, and always had her trusty fishing pole at her side. Fishing was more than a hobby; it was her passion and peace. Known lovingly as "Nana" not just to her own grandchildren, but to all who knew her, Debbie took immense joy in attending their extracurricular activities. Her energy and enthusiasm was infectious, and she was always up for anything fun, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went. Her helping heart and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. While the family has chosen to hold a private ceremony to honor Debbie's life, they extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bridgeway Hospice for their compassionate care and support during her final, peaceful days. Her spirit, love, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
