March 17, 1955 — May 29, 2026
It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Deborah Lynn Vanio, lovingly known as Debbie, who peacefully left this world on May 29, 2026, with the sun gently shining upon her after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Debbie was born on March 17, 1955, in the vibrant city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a place she always held close to her heart.
Debbie was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony Kmieciak and Carol Shoup and was predeceased by her cherished brother, Dale Parris. She is survived by her devoted sons, Ryan Kmieciak, 49, and his wife Thera, and Sean Vanio, 39. Her legacy continues through her precious grandchild, who brought immense joy to her life. Debbie is also survived by her loving siblings, brothers Mark Kmieciak and Steve Parris, and sisters Kathleen Dentler and Kathy Christian, who were her lifelong companions and confidants.
In September 1996, Debbie married the love of her life, Joseph Vanio, with whom she shared countless beautiful moments and built a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories. Together, they nurtured a family that was a testament to their unwavering commitment and deep affection for one another.
Debbie dedicated her life to caring for others, a calling she fulfilled with grace and compassion. As a caregiver, she provided unwavering support to her sister Kathleen and her late brother Dale, exemplifying the essence of selflessness and kindness. Her career was not just a job but a testament to her boundless generosity and her innate ability to bring comfort to those she loved.
Beyond her professional life, Debbie was a woman of many passions. She found solace and joy in the simple beauty of gardening, spending countless hours nurturing her beloved flowers, which seemed to bloom just a bit brighter under her care. Her garden was a reflection of her spirit—vibrant, full of life, and always welcoming. Above all, Debbie treasured the time spent with her family, drawing strength and happiness from the bonds they shared.
Debbie was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Her infectious smile and laughter could brighten the darkest of days, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to be touched by her warmth. She was a compassionate soul, ever willing to lend a helping hand, and her presence will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A service to honor and celebrate Debbie's remarkable life will be held on June 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Ball Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to join us in remembering the extraordinary woman she was and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Debbie's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Debbie Lynn Vanio's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her. May her soul rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty and love she so generously shared during her lifetime.
