Deborah La Veda Williams

It is with deep sadness and heartfelt respect that we announce the passing of Deborah La Veda Williams, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, on September 8, 2026. Born on November 4, 1963, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Deborah lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to her family and community. Deborah was a devoted wife to Robert Williams, whom she met at the Ferrara Candy Company in 2018. Their meeting was described as love at first sight, and their bond only grew stronger as they spent their years together. Their love, likened to a beautiful melody, was unbreakable and unmatched. Robert stood by her side with unwavering devotion, loving her until her very last breath and beyond. Deborah's educational journey began at Marshal High School in Chicago, Illinois, where she graduated with her diploma. She dedicated over 15 years of her life to working as a custodian, a role in which she took immense pride. Further serving her community, Deborah worked as a safety crossing guard at Lindblom High School, ensuring the safety of countless students for over five years. Her deep faith in God was a cornerstone of her life. Deborah was a dedicated Missionary Baptist and her spiritual home was at Progressive Number 2 Missionary Baptist Church, where she was cherished as a member. Deborah's life was a tapestry of rich and fulfilling experiences. She loved traveling, bowling, and enjoying outings to the movies and dining with loved ones. Shopping was another joy for her, and she reveled in the delight of finding treasures. Most importantly, Deborah cherished every moment spent with her family, who were the center of her world. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Williams; her siblings, Brigette Watson and English Watson; and her children, Dominique Chew, Diamond Chew Sr., and Michael Jerry Jr. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: De’Myah Jackson, De’Mychal Jackson, Kennis Holland Jr., Shania Lockett, Shaylah Lockett, Antoine Lockett Jr., Diamond Chew Jr., and Chahari Chew, as well as her great-grandchild, De’Nylah Jackson. She is also fondly remembered by her grandson-in-law, Marqualyn Richardson. Deborah was predeceased by her parents, her two brothers, and her oldest daughter, Hope Williams. Though they have passed on, their memories remain in the hearts of those who loved them. A memorial service to celebrate Deborah's life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Dominique Den. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a cause close to Deborah's heart. Deborah La Veda Williams will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering commitment to her family and faith. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
