Deborah Jeanne Brodner
June 15, 1955 — August 21, 2026
With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Deborah Jeanne Brodner on August 21, 2026, at her home. Deborah, born on June 15, 1955, in Rochester, NY, was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Deborah was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Joyce Brusso. She was also predeceased by her sister, Tammy Brusso. Her legacy of love and laughter lives on in her surviving family: her devoted son Michael Humphrey, her loving daughter Cathleen Kent, and her adored granddaughter Maddison Kent. She is also survived by her brothers Chuck (Sue) Brusso and Michael Brusso, her sister Lisa Brusso, and numerous nephews and cousins who will forever hold her memory dear.
For over 40 years, Deborah worked tirelessly as a waitress and bartender, most recently retiring from Hampton's Restaurant in Daytona Beach, FL, in 2015. Her dedication and work ethic were unparalleled, and she made countless friends among her colleagues and customers. Her genuine smile and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
In her later years, Deborah made her home in Plantation South, Huntsville, AL, where she created a vibrant community even as her health made mobility challenging. From her welcoming front porch, she greeted neighbors with warmth and shared treats with every friendly dog that came her way. The highlight of her day was waving good morning and good afternoon to the children aboard school bus 24, gestures that became cherished routines not just for Deborah, but for the entire community.
Deborah's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of Huntsville Hospital 5E and the compassionate team at Hospice of North Alabama for their exceptional care and support during her final days.
In honor of Deborah's generous spirit, the family kindly suggests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice.
Deborah Jeanne Brodner will be remembered for her unwavering love, her boundless generosity, and her remarkable ability to bring joy to those around her. She will be missed deeply and remembered always by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
