In Loving Memory
Deborah Fuller
November 26, 1952 — March 8, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Deborah Fuller, who left this world peacefully on March 8, 2026. Born on November 26, 1951, in Chattanooga, TN, Deborah's journey through life was marked by her unwavering kindness, infectious laughter, and the warmth she shared with everyone she encountered.
Deborah was the cherished daughter of Modestine Richardson and James Allen Poole, who predeceased her, along with her loving stepmother Eva Johnson, her husband Shawn Anthony Fuller, and her brother Rondel McElvain. Despite these significant losses, Deborah's spirit remained unbroken, and she continued to be a beacon of strength for her family and friends.
Deborah met and married, Shawn Anthony Fuller, on August 30, 1969, in Los Angeles, CA. Their 33-year marriage was a testament to love, partnership, and shared dreams. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Shawn Allen and DeShawn Aileen.
A graduate of Pomona High School in 1969, Deborah furthered her education by earning an Associate's Degree from Los Angeles Southwest College in 1980. Her passion for education and nurturing others led her to a fulfilling career as a Special Education Assistant for the LAUSD's deaf and hard of hearing division, where she devoted over 30 years to making a difference in the lives of countless students.
Deborah's life was enriched by her diverse interests. She was an avid seamstress, renowned for her ability to create beautiful garments and plushies, especially for her grandson Devin. Her love for teaching extended to her only granddaughter, Damaris, to whom she imparted the beauty of American Sign Language. Deborah was also known for her turn around casino trips and her unmatched skill in bargain shopping, often sharing her finds with loved ones.
Her quick wit and warm smile could light up any room, and she had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. Her kindness and generosity were boundless, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Deborah leaves behind her loving children, Shawn Allen Poole, DeShawn Aileen Fuller-Gough, and son-in-law Duane Gough; her devoted siblings Dubois Poole, Carolyn Tyler, Janice Poole, Tameka Poole, and Tiara Poole; and her treasured grandchildren Shawn Donte Solomon, Mortrice Vincent Solomon, Allen Poole, Benjamin Poole, Devin Alexander Gough, Damaris Autumn Gough and a host of extended family and friends. Her legacy of love and laughter will live on in their hearts.
A celebration of Deborah's remarkable life will be held on May 2, 2026, at the Lawndale Community Center, located at 14717 Burin Ave, Lawndale, CA 90260. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Deborah A Fuller Memorial Scholarship Fund, ensuring her commitment to education and helping others endures.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her friends at Bayport Towers Senior Living and the compassionate staff at the Golden Care Living facility for their devoted care. As they fondly remember Deborah, the family shares a special message: "Deborah will be forever in our hearts."
Deborah Fuller was a woman of immense love, strength, and grace, whose presence will be deeply missed but whose spirit will forever inspire.
