It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Deborah Foster, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Deborah peacefully departed this life on March 2, 2026, at the age of 64, after a courageous and inspiring nearly decade-long battle with breast cancer. Her unwavering spirit and remarkable strength were a testament to her character, providing a beacon of hope and resilience to all who knew her.
Deborah was born on June 11, 1961, in the tranquil town of Speedwell, Tennessee, to Wayne and Ora Ellison. Growing up in a loving family, she was instilled with values of compassion, kindness, and service, which guided her throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Wayne and Ora, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms into eternity.
A dedicated and nurturing spirit, Deborah pursued her passion for helping others by attending Cumberland College and the Baptist School of Nursing. Her career as a nurse spanned an impressive 40 years, with the majority of her time devoted to caring for the tiniest and most vulnerable lives in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Her gentle touch and warm smile brought comfort and hope to countless families, and her legacy will forever be remembered by her colleagues and the families she served.
On April 19, 1986, Deborah married the love of her life, David Foster, with whom she shared nearly four decades of unwavering love and companionship. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with laughter, adventure, and a deep, abiding faith. David survives her, cherishing the many memories they created together.
Deborah's proudest roles were as a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving children, Daniel Foster and his wife Sara, and Rebekah Wesley and her husband Haden. Her heart swelled with pride at the mention of her grandson, Henry, whom she adored beyond measure. Her family was her greatest joy, and she relished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Deborah is also survived by her devoted brothers, Tommy and Daryl Ellison, who, along with her extended family and friends, will deeply miss her presence, her laughter, and her unwavering support.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Deborah found solace and joy in the great outdoors. She cherished camping trips with her family and church friends, where she could bask in the beauty of nature and the warmth of companionship.
A celebration of Deborah's life will be held on March 7, 2026, at Trinity Funeral Home, located at 228 Main St., Maynardville, TN 37807. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Deborah are invited to gather and honor the incredible woman she was, sharing stories and memories that reflect her loving spirit.
As we say goodbye, we hold Deborah's memory close, her love serving as a guiding light during this time of mourning. Her legacy of compassion, dedication, and love will continue to inspire us all, reminding us of the preciousness of life and the impact one person can have on the world.
