Deborah Ann Mills Klee
January 21, 1954 — July 23, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Deborah Ann Mills Klee, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, on July 23, 2026. Born on January 21, 1954, in Covington, Kentucky, Deb's life was a testament to love, dedication, and service to others.
Deb was the cherished daughter of Thomas and Mary Devine. Her journey in life was marked by her commitment to care for others, a path she embarked upon after graduating from Perth Amboy High School in 1972. She pursued her passion for nursing at Charles E Gregory School of Nursing, graduating in 1975. Her career began at the very institution she trained in, which later became Perth Amboy General Hospital, where she refined her skills and touched countless lives.
In 1986, Deb's life took a beautiful turn when she married Daniel Klee at St. Peter's Church in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Together, they nurtured a loving blended family with their children, Patrick Cobb and Benjamin and Jennifer Klee Gough, alongside their son-in-law Chris. Deb's devotion to her family was unwavering, and she took immense pride in the life they built together.
In 1989, Deb and her family relocated to Florida, where she found her true calling as a Home Health Registered Nurse. Her dedication to her patients was unparalleled, and she continued to serve with compassion at Amedisys Home Health in Port Charlotte until her retirement in 2019. However, her passion for nursing led her to continue caring for patients with smaller agencies, only ceasing her work in December of 2025 due to medical reasons.
Deb was an active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Perth Amboy, where her faith and community involvement were a vital part of her life. Beyond her professional and community commitments, her love extended to her furry friends. She was an ardent supporter of animal rescue, particularly for Adoptable Greyhounds of Florida, Racing Dog Rescue Project, and Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Rescue.
Deb leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Dan, her children Patrick, Benjamin, Jennifer, and Chris, as well as her large extended family and her close-knit circle of RN friends and colleagues who were by her side for over five decades.
In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date to honor Deb's remarkable journey. The family expresses profound gratitude to Tidewell/Empath Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during Deb's final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Deb's memory can be made to Adoptable Greyhounds of Florida, Racing Dog Rescue Project, and Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Rescue, causes that were close to her heart.
Deborah Ann Mills Klee will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit of love and service will continue to inspire everyone whose lives she touched.
