Deanna Williams

Deanna Williams, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, at Avalon View, enveloped by the love of her family after a long journey with Alzheimer's. Born on December 23, 1946, in the quaint town of Harrison, Arkansas, Deanna was the beloved daughter of Acie and Anna Belle Thomason. Her early years were shared with her older sister, Evelyn "Ginger" Robbins, both of whom now predecease her. Deanna's vibrant spirit and boundless kindness touched many lives. She graduated in 1965 from Excelsior Springs High School, beginning a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a genuine love for people. In 1966, her heart found its home with Doug Williams, whom she married in Deepwater, Missouri. Together, they celebrated 60 beautiful years of marriage, building a family that was the very center of her world. Throughout her life, Deanna demonstrated a remarkable versatility in her career choices, from manufacturing to retail sales, fast food, and customer service. Her adaptability and work ethic were admired by all who knew her. Yet, it was her personal qualities that truly set her apart. Deanna never knew a stranger; her gift for storytelling and her readiness to share a smile made every encounter memorable. Deanna's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Doug Williams, and her loving children, Christie Koedatich of Holt and Kevin (Jeanne) Williams of Excelsior Springs. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren, Arron (Amy) Koedatich of Wood Heights, J.D. (Jayme) Koedatich of Holt, Kenny (Joana) Williams of Mission, KS, Amber (Brandon) Rosema of Independence, and Blake (Janine) Williams of Boyd, TX, as well as 18 cherished great-grandchildren. Her brother Benny (Jerry) Thomason and sister Doris "Maxine" Anderson also survive her, alongside numerous extended family members and friends. Deanna's hands were rarely idle, as she found great joy in crocheting. Each grandchild and great-grandchild received a blanket, lovingly crafted in their favorite color, a testament to her love and care. Her culinary skills were another avenue through which she expressed her love, with her kitchen often filled with the comforting aroma of her cooking and baking. Shopping was another favorite pastime, not necessarily for the sake of purchasing but for the joy of conversing with others and spreading her warmth. In honor of Deanna's life and her impact on those around her, the family suggests memorials be made to Alzheimer's research or a charity close to your heart, celebrating her generous spirit and enduring legacy. Deanna Williams will be profoundly missed but forever remembered for her love, laughter, and the beautiful stories she wove into the fabric of her family's history.
