It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deanna Kovach Hinzman, who left this world peacefully on June 7, 2026, at the age of 60, after a courageous yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on March 21, 1966, in Dover, DE, Deanna was the cherished daughter of Dean and Janice Hinzman. Her life was a testament to the power of love, creativity, and resilience. Deanna's journey began in Dover, where she cultivated lifelong friendships and a love for learning. She graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1984, then pursued her passion for communication at the University of Delaware. Her career took her to Maryland Bank, where she excelled as Executive Vice President, showcasing her sharp business acumen. Seeking new challenges, Deanna transitioned to United Van Lines as a professional mover for businesses. Ultimately, she found her true calling in the world of interior design, taking over her mother’s business, Decorating Den Interiors. For 18 years, Deanna’s unparalleled creativity and vision transformed her clients' spaces into vibrant works of art. Deanna found immense joy in her personal life as well. She was a devoted wife to Joe Kovach, with whom she shared 14 beautiful years. Together, they created a warm and loving home in Felton, Delaware, where they spent countless hours enjoying music and each other's company in their backyard barn. As a stepmother, she lovingly embraced Joe's son, Brady Kovach, bringing her nurturing spirit into his life. Her parents, Dean and Janice Hinzman, and her brother Scott Hinzman, along with his wife Kim, survive Deanna. The familial bonds she cherished so deeply provided a foundation of love and support throughout her life. Deanna was known for her outgoing nature, quick wit, and culinary talents that were enjoyed by all who gathered around her table. She was musically gifted in singing and playing the piano. An avid gardener and bird watcher, she found serenity in nature and shared her days with her beloved dog, Dawson. Her life was enriched by her faith community at First Baptist of Dover, where she attended during her formative years. A celebration of Deanna’s life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the London Village Chapel, located at 568 Millchop Lane, Magnolia, DE 19962. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Deanna's memory to the ASPCA, reflecting her deep love for animals. Deanna’s legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will forever remain in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her. She leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories, woven with the threads of her kindness and vitality. In her honor, let us continue to find beauty in the everyday and hold those we love a little closer.
