Dawnette Pietig

November 1, 1956 — June 29, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dawnette Pietig, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on June 29, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on November 1, 1956, in New Hope, Minnesota, Dawnette was the cherished daughter of the late Donald F. Pierce and Jeanne Pierce (Johns). Dawnette's journey was marked by her unwavering strength and boundless love for her family. After a courageous 19-month battle with leukemia, she passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and an enduring commitment to family values. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Margaret Alosaimi, and her brother Robert Pierce. Dawnette leaves behind a loving family who will hold her memory dearly: her devoted husband of 41 years, Brian K. Pietig; her beloved children, Angela Hile and Jacob Overcott, along with his wife Annie, and Joshua Overcott. Dawnette was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren – Brandon Overcott, Damian Wagner Jr., MaKayla Buss, Braden Overcott, Ayla Overcott, Ivy Overcott, and Alora Overcott – and four great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Pierce and brother Gregory Pierce, as well as her sister-in-law Denise Michaelides, brother-in-law Scott Pietig, and many cherished nieces and nephews. Dawnette was a graduate of Robbinsdale Cooper High School and dedicated her career to her work at Hyvee, where she was known for her warmth and dedication. A devoted member of Hope Community Church, she found joy and solace in her faith and community. Her passions were many, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Whether it was engaging in lively water balloon fights or hosting big family holidays, Dawnette's home was always filled with laughter and love. A service to honor and celebrate Dawnette's life will be held on August 1, 2026, at Hope Community Church, located at 19951 Oswald Farm Rd, Rogers, MN 55374. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am. Friends and family are invited to join us for a luncheon and Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm, where we will share memories and honor the incredible life Dawnette lived. Dawnette Pietig's presence touched the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the love she so generously shared.
