It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dawn Vance, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend, who left us very unexpectedly on May 10, 2026. Born on April 19, 1968, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dawn graced this world with her vibrant spirit and unwavering love for those around her for 58 beautiful years. Dawn was the cherished daughter of John and Hilda Bridges. She was predeceased by her dear mother, Hilda, her loving step-mother, Patt Bridges, and her beloved sister, Dayna Lovelady. She is survived by her devoted father, John, who stood by her side through life's many chapters. Dawn's legacy continues through her children, Billy Vance III and his wife Rachel, and her daughter Kylie. The joy of her life, her grandson Billy, will forever carry the warmth of her love. Her nephew Jordan also mourns her passing, cherishing the memories they shared. In January 1992, Dawn married Billy Vance Jr., and together they embarked on a journey of love and family, welcoming two wonderful children into the world. Though their marriage concluded in 2006, their shared love for their children remained unwavering. A proud alumna of Putnam City High School, Class of 1986, Dawn pursued her passion for helping others by earning a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma in 1990. Her career was marked by compassion and dedication, as she touched countless lives with her kindness and expertise. Dawn possessed a zest for life that was contagious. An ardent fan of OU football and Thunder basketball, she celebrated every victory with unbridled enthusiasm. Music filled her soul, and she found solace and joy in melodies that resonated with her spirit. Her laughter was infectious, especially when enjoying a good comedy that would have her doubled over in mirth. Known for her stubbornness, often described as being more stubborn than a bull, Dawn faced life's challenges with determination, proving time and again that nothing was impossible for her. Her love for her family was boundless, and she embraced each moment with them as a precious gift. Dawn's heart was as expansive as her spirit, and her influence will be felt for generations to come. A celebration of Dawn's life will take place on May 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Council Road Baptist Church, located at 2900 N Council Rd, Bethany, OK 73008. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in honoring her remarkable life and legacy. In this time of profound loss, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Oklahoma City Fire Department and the emergency and ICU staff at Baptist Hospital for their quick efforts and their amazing care. Dawn Vance will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, her legacy of love, laughter, and determination living on in the stories and smiles of her cherished family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love she so generously shared in this world.
