It is with profound sadness and deep respect that we announce the passing of Dawn Dee Dunlap, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully at her home on May 10, 2026. Born on July 31, 1961, in the charming town of Prosser, Washington, Dawn graced this earth with her warmth and kindness for 64 years.
Dawn was the cherished daughter of Robert J. and Ruth L. Dunlap. She grew up surrounded by love in a close-knit family, attending Kiona-Benton schools throughout her educational journey. Her school years laid the foundation for a life filled with learning, laughter, and the nurturing of lifelong friendships.
Dawn's life was a testament to the power of love and family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Natasha Dawn, who predeceased her, and Tishina, who survives her. Her love extended to her precious grandchildren, Gage, Mimi, and Mya, and her great-grandson, Cohen, who were the light of her life. Dawn’s family was her greatest joy, and she invested her heart and soul into creating cherished memories with them.
Her father, Bob, her brother Doyle Dunlap, and her sister Candy Harmon will forever hold her in their hearts, along with several nieces, nephews, great nephews, and a multitude of friends who were touched by her gentle spirit and infectious laughter.
Dawn was predeceased by her loving mother, Ruth, her daughter Natasha, and her brother Bobby, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms on her journey home.
A woman of many talents, Dawn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for crafting and gardening, skills she used to bring beauty and creativity into the world. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, a place where she found solace and inspiration. Dawn also cherished her time spent with family and friends, where her kind heart and generous spirit left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In honoring Dawn’s life, we not only remember her achievements and talents but also the love she shared and the lives she touched. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the profound legacy of love, kindness, and strength she leaves in our hearts.
A celebration of Dawn's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and share stories that keep her spirit alive. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dawn's memory to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to her generous and loving nature.
Dawn Dee Dunlap’s journey on this earth may have ended, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered, as we carry forward her legacy of love and compassion.
