July 21, 1961 — February 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Davis Jackson Lane Jr., affectionately known as "Jackie," on February 15, 2026. Born on July 21, 1961, in the vibrant city of Knoxville, Tennessee, Jackie peacefully left this world surrounded by the love of his family at his home. Jackie's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, laughter, and resilience. Predeceased by his beloved wife Patrica Moore Lane, his cherished daughter Chasity Lane, his nurturing mother Flora Edna Morefield Monday, and his dear sister Alice Lane, Jackie is now reunited with them in eternal peace. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted fiancée Desiray Abernathy, who brought joy and companionship to his later years. Jackie leaves behind a legacy of love with his stepchildren, Candice Peek, Brooke Ross, and Ricky Moore, who were like his own. His father, John R Monday, continues to carry the torch of Jackie's spirit, supported by his sisters, Wendy Iosa and Sally Lane, who held a special place in his heart. Known for his passion for fishing and his knack for working on cars, Jackie was a man of simple pleasures, finding solace and joy in the little things. He was often found in the comfort of his living room, watching old westerns and wrestling, with his faithful fur baby, Mimi, nestled by his side. His love for these pastimes was only surpassed by the deep affection he held for his family, particularly his seven grandchildren and Four great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. The family invites all who knew Jackie to join in a celebration of his life on April 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Newport First Church of God, located at 331 Woodsen Rd, Newport, Tennessee. This will be a time to honor Jackie's memory, share stories of his life, and find comfort in the community of those he loved and who loved him. Jackie's spirit will forever be cherished, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we say goodbye, we remember him not with tears of sorrow, but with gratitude for the love and joy he brought into our lives. Rest in peace, dear Jackie, until we meet again.
