In Loving Memory of Davien Davien Danny Roach, age 18, of Chesterfield, VA. departed this world peacefully in his sleep on August 8, 2026. Born on July 6, 2008, in Portsmouth, VA, he was the beloved son of Lexis and Domenic Woods and Don Roach, and a loving big brother to Elsa Summers. His Aunts Dani Nunez and Vanesa Andaluz, played a significant role in his life, alongside family and friends who will forever hold his memory dear. Davien was a recent graduate, May 2026, of Matoaca High School. He was an extraordinary young man with a sharp wit and a wonderful sense of sarcasm that brought joy and laughter to those around him. Gifted with a profound command of words, he was a talented writer, able to connect effortlessly with people of all ages, filling every room with his warmth and intellect. Davien had a deep fascination with human behavior, often analyzing what makes people tick. He bonded with his mom over their shared love for gripping documentaries and horror movies. His humor left a lasting impression on every doctor, nurse, and staff member at the hospitals, as he lightheartedly "corrupted" them by recommending his favorite horror films. His passion for sports was evident in his energy and versatility. He played basketball, soccer, baseball, and peewee football, and challenged himself individually through track, martial arts, and boxing. He developed an appreciation for the focus and skill required in golf and tennis. As a lifelong explorer, Davien traveled to the Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Ecuador, France, Italy, Croatia, Czech Republic, and Germany, cherishing experiences in places like Prague, Berlin, and Nuremberg. His adventurous spirit extended across the United States, visiting places such as: Washington, California, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. Davien bravely fought an aggressive cancer, spending two years at VCU Medical Center and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. When treatments were exhausted, and his body could no longer fight, he returned home to be surrounded by love. There are no words big enough to explain how much he will be missed. We only know how incredibly blessed we were to have him, how deeply he was loved, and how impossible it is to imagine this world without him in it. Rest peacefully, Davien. You fought harder than anyone should ever have to. You were loved beyond words, and you will never, ever be forgotten.
