September 4, 2003 — March 20, 2020

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Wilson, who departed this world far too soon on March 20, 2020, at the tender age of 16. Born on September 4, 2003, in Wilson, North Carolina, David was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him. His life, though brief, was marked by love, laughter, and a remarkable ability to touch those around him. David was the cherished son of the late David E. Wilson and Annie R. Wilson. Though his parents preceded him in passing, their legacy lives on through the incredible spirit of their beloved son. Raised in Wilson, NC, David attended Hunt High School, where he was known for his infectious laughter, quick wit, and warm heart. He had an innate ability to make those around him feel special and valued, a gift that was cherished by his friends and teachers alike. David's passions were as vibrant and varied as he was. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as strumming his guitar and listening to his favorite music. Fishing by the serene waters of North Carolina brought him peace, while the camaraderie of bowling with friends brought him joy. Ever the entertainer, David was known for his ability to make others laugh, often leaving a room in stitches with his clever jokes and playful antics. In addition to his personal pursuits, David was a proud member of the Army, demonstrating a commitment to serving his country with honor and distinction. His dedication and service were a testament to his character and his desire to contribute to something larger than himself. David also found fulfillment in his work at Firestone. He approached each day with enthusiasm and a strong work ethic, forming meaningful connections with his colleagues and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held on March 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home, located at 805 Nash St SE, Wilson, NC 27893. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by David are invited to gather in remembrance of a life lived with love and laughter. Though David's time with us was tragically short, his spirit and the memories he created will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. May we find comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his beloved parents, watching over us with his everlasting smile and boundless love. David's legacy will forever remind us of the power of kindness, the joy of laughter, and the importance of cherishing every moment. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
