With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David Wayne Langston, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. David was born on March 10, 1963, in Terrell, Texas, in Kaufman County, and he peacefully left this world on April 26, 2026, surrounded by his family and the love they shared. David was the cherished son of the late Herman and Myree Langston, and the treasured grandson of the late Evanalist Sammuel and Lillian Skinner. Though he has departed this earthly realm, David's legacy continues through the lives of those who survive him. Left to honor his memory is his devoted wife, Maggie Langston, with whom he shared ten wonderful years of marriage, having wed on July 10, 2017, in Mexia, Texas. Their union was a testament to love and partnership, a bond that radiated warmth and grace. David's pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He leaves behind his sons, David Jr., Matthew Langston, Samuel Morgan Smith and his wife Aliyah, Derrick Morgan, and his daughter Mokeisha Morgan Smith and her husband Detrick Sr. Smith. His beloved sister, Tina Miller, and her husband Richard, also survive him. David's heart was full of love for his three grandchildren: Derrick, Detrick Jr., and Kabrisha, as well as his two nephews and one niece. A graduate of Lancaster High School, class of 1982, David built a fulfilling career with the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company, dedicating over twenty years to his work before embarking on new adventures that led him to meet his beloved Maggie. Together, they attended the Lone Star Baptist Church in Groesbeck, Texas, where they found community and spiritual solace. David was a man of simple pleasures and profound values. He found joy in fishing, spending quality time with his family, and playing with his grandchildren. His love for reading the Bible was a testament to his faith and the guidance it provided him throughout his life. Those who knew David will remember him as a man with a heart of gold, whose thoughtfulness and generosity knew no bounds. He was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a comforting word, embodying the true spirit of compassion and selflessness. His love for his family was unwavering and all-encompassing, a beacon of strength for those fortunate enough to call him family. David Wayne Langston's life was a tapestry of love, kindness, and devotion. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we find comfort in the memories and lessons he has left behind. He will be deeply missed and forever celebrated in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A celebration of David's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity close to David's heart, ensuring that his legacy of generosity continues to touch lives.
