David Petro, beloved husband, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2026, with his loving wife Mary by his side. Born on March 30, 1951, in Charlotte, North Carolina, David was the son of Earl J. Petro and Viretta Petro. He was predeceased by his parents and his older brother Phillip, but he leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship through his surviving wife, Mary, and his older brother, Thomas Petro. David's journey was marked by a passion for connecting with others and a dedication to his work. He graduated from Riverdell High School in 1969 with a keen interest in business, which he pursued further at Hartwick College in New York. During his college years, he became an active member of the Alpha Delta Omega fraternity, where he forged lifelong friendships and demonstrated his commitment to community and camaraderie. For over five decades, David dedicated his professional life to men's retail clothing. He excelled in his career, culminating in his role as a store and district manager for Jos. A. Bank Clothiers. Known for his keen eye for fashion and his ability to make everyone feel like family, David's presence was a beacon of warmth and style in the industry. In October 1993, David married the love of his life, Mary, and together they built a beautiful life in Wake Forest, where they resided for the past 24 years. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, characterized by laughter, mutual respect, and shared adventures. David's life was a symphony of kindness, loyalty, and dedication. He had a remarkable ability to make those around him feel valued and cherished. His generosity and sense of humor were well-known among his friends and family, leaving an indelible imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
