November 2, 1946 — March 14, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of David Samuel Murray, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. David peacefully transitioned from this life on March 14, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on November 2, 1946, in Ferris, Texas, David was the beloved son of David and Margaret Lois Murray. He was a beacon of kindness and resilience, whose life was a testament to love, service, and dedication. David was a proud alumnus of Dunbar High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for a life rich in experiences and achievements. Upon graduation, he answered the call to serve his country, dedicating four honorable years in the U.S. Air Force. This period in his life was marked by a steadfast commitment to duty and a profound respect for his fellow servicemen and women. Following his military service, David built a successful career as an insurance broker with Southwest Wheel and American National/General. He later channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into a self-employed venture that allowed him to touch the lives of countless clients with his integrity and expertise. David was a devoted member of Pilgrim Rest MBC, where he found spiritual fulfillment and a loving community. His faith was a guiding light in his life, and his presence was a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, David and Margaret Lois Murray; his devoted wife, Louise Murray; his sister, Margie Cherry; and his brother, Alfred Murray. Though their absence was deeply felt, David carried their memories with him, honoring them through his actions and his character. David's legacy lives on through his surviving family: his son, Corey Murray and wife Regina; his daughter, Tara Murray and husband Roy; his stepdaughter, Demetria Glaspie and husband Justin; his sister, Mable Armstead; his special nephew, Jessie Cherry; and his special cousin, Robert Scott Jr. He was a proud grandfather to Crystal Dean, Timetra Goodson, Corey Murray Jr., and Brooklyn Murray, and a beloved great-grandfather to four adoring great-grandchildren. David’s life will be celebrated at a service on March 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM, held at Pilgrim Rest MBC, located at 1819 North Washington Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75204. Family, friends, and all who knew him are invited to join in honoring a life lived with dignity, compassion, and unwavering love. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of choice in David’s memory, to continue his legacy of giving and kindness. David Samuel Murray leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. His warmth, wisdom, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. Rest in peace, dear David, as you reunite with those who have gone before you. Your journey has touched us all, and your spirit will forever guide us.
