David S. Pelc

March 2, 1956 — August 8, 2026

David S. Pelc, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 2, 1956, in Long Beach, California, to Tadeusz and Helen Pelc, who preceded him in death. Despite prolonged battles with congestive heart failure and scoliosis, David was known by all to offer kind words, a smile, and a firm handshake until the end of his earthly journey. David's journey began in the vibrant city of Long Beach, where he graduated from Wilson High School in 1977. His passion for history led him to earn a Bachelor's Degree from Cal State University of Long Beach in 1981. David's academic pursuits culminated in a law degree from Loyola Marymount University in 1985, marking the beginning of a career dedicated to both sides of Worker's Compensation Law. For nearly two decades, David navigated the complexities of the legal world with integrity and pride, touching the lives of many along the way. On May 18, 1985, David married the love of his life, Adelina. Together, they built a life anchored in faith and love, raising their cherished daughter, Nicole. David was a devoted family man, whose greatest joy later in life was spending time with his grandson, James David. He reveled in the simple pleasures of life, such as visiting with James while he was under the loving care of Lola Adie. David was an avid lover of horror films and a passionate collector of science fiction memorabilia. His enthusiasm for fireworks displayed his childlike wonder and zest for life. As a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Refuge for over 30 years, David's faith was a cornerstone of his existence, providing him and his family with strength and hope. Those who knew David will remember him as the quieter half of his marriage, a man of intellect and gentle demeanor. While Adelina was the social butterfly, David found solace in reading and cherished the moments spent with his daughter, sharing his love for horror films. David is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Adelina; his loving brother, Dan; his cherished daughter, Nicole; and his treasured grandson, James David. Though he is no longer with us, the legacy of his love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him. David S. Pelc will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
