David Reis Birchall

David Reis Birchall, lovingly known as Dave, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Born on September 16, 1959, in High Point, NC, Dave was the cherished son of the late Rev. Philip James Birchall, Sr. and Helen Pegram Birchall. He is predeceased by his parents and his beloved son Jonathan "Levi" Birchall. Dave spent his life surrounded by love and laughter, both personally and professionally. He was best friend and husband to Phyllis Birchall, with whom he shared 40 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with joy, family, and enduring memories. He leaves behind his daughter Heather Birchall and her fiancé Justin Hewitt of Ramseur, NC, stepson Jeremy Brown of Asheboro, NC, and daughter-in-law Melissa Dawn Williams. His legacy lives on in his cherished grandchildren, Ivy Birchall Loveland and her husband Tyler, Nathaniel Hunt, Aurora Curran-Navarrete, and Haley Brown. Dave's life was also enriched by the deep friendship he shared with Robert and Kathleen Watkins, among many others who treasured his company. Throughout his career, Dave was known for his dedication and leadership as a supervisor at Carolina Aluminum and Vinyl, where he made specialty vinyl replacement windows. Upon retirement, he embraced life with enthusiasm, exploring his diverse interests with vigor. A man of many passions, Dave was an ardent lover of history and politics, and he took pleasure in sharing his insights with those around him. He found great joy in cooking and grilling, often bringing loved ones together over delicious meals and engaging conversations. An avid reader, Dave's curiosity knew no bounds, and he was particularly passionate about various music genres. His appreciation for nature was evident as he often found solace on his porch, gazing at the stars and listening to the soothing sounds of a warm North Carolina night. Dave was known for his uplifting spirit and infectious smile, always bringing warmth and laughter to those around him. His presence lit up any room, and his kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone he met. A service to honor and celebrate Dave's life will be held on September 19, 2026, at the Midway Wesleyan Church Fellowship Hall in Randleman, NC. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shown their love and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of David Reis Birchall. As Thomas Campbell beautifully said, "To live in hearts left behind is not to die." Dave will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched, and his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of his family and friends.
