David Makins

David Makins, departed this life on October 16, 2026. A beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed dearly. Born in the Laurens, South Carolina, to Annie Makins and Livingston Fleming, David's early years include attending and graduating from Sanders High School and later enlisted in the United States Army. He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughter. Audrey Makins of Simpsonville, SC and Desirae Makins (Mother, Dorotheia Makins) of Marietta, GA. One sister, Barbara Bowens of Greenville, SC. Three grandsons RaShad Rice (Sherilynne), Jakheam Rice (Angela) and VaCenté Rice. Six Great-Grandchildren, Kaden Rice, Destin Rice, Kasir Rice, Nella Rice, Navy Rice and Mya Trent as well as a host of relatives and friends with one very Special friend, Mr. R.D. Philson and a Special cousin, Mr. Willie Cunningham. To all who have reached out with support and condolences, the family extends their deepest gratitude. Your love and kindness during this difficult time have been a source of comfort and strength.
