David Knuth, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in the comforting presence of his family on August 24, 2026. Born on August 4, 1949, in St. Joseph, Michigan, David was the cherished son of Fernest and Martha Knuth. He grew up in a home filled with warmth and laughter, alongside his siblings. David was a proud graduate of St. Joseph High School, class of 1968. Shortly after, he embarked on a remarkable career at Gast Manufacturing, dedicating 49 years as a respected assembly line supervisor. His commitment and work ethic left an indelible mark on both his colleagues and the company. On May 8, 1971, David married the love of his life, Karen Bartz. Together, they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage, filled with joy, challenges, and countless cherished memories. Their enduring love and partnership were a testament to the strength and resilience of their bond. They raised four remarkable children—April (James) Smiley, Grant (Kimberly) Knuth, Brandi (Ed) Sauder, and Amber Knuth—instilling in them the values of kindness, generosity, and the importance of family. David was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren—Veronica, Brandon, Hannah, Oliver, Avery, Brayden, Zoe, Lola, Ashley (Riccardo)—and a doting great-grandfather to four. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness. A man of many talents and interests, David was a passionate athlete who went on to coach and officiate various sporting events. His love for sports, particularly golf, was infectious, and he was always eager to share his enthusiasm with others. A dedicated Detroit sports fan, he also enjoyed a good game of euchre with friends. His home and yard were a testament to his meticulous nature, with immaculate landscaping that reflected his pride and dedication. David was a cherished member of Christ Lutheran Church in Stevensville, where he shared his faith and fellowship with many. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, David had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives, creating lasting friendships and joyful memories. David is preceded by his parents, Fernest and Martha Knuth; his siblings, Maridee, Jim, and Fred; and his grandson, Brandon. He is survived by his devoted wife, Karen; his loving children and their spouses; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Linda Fites, Dan (Cheryl) Knuth, Steve (Linda) Knuth, Mark (Renee) Knuth, Mike (Karen) Knuth, Christine (Dennis) Scharnowske, and Paul (Deb) Knuth. A service to celebrate David's life will be held on August 30, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church, located at 4333 Cleveland Ave, Stevensville, at 2:00 PM with lunch to follow. Family, friends, and all whose lives David touched are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Stevensville, Michigan, in honor of David's memory and his dedication to his faith community. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Hospice Homecare and Christ Lutheran Church for their support and care during David's final days. David's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate to know him.
