With deep sorrow and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of David Lewis Pickard, who left this world on September 1, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on August 7, 1949, in Magnolia, Arkansas, David was a beacon of strength, love, and unwavering determination, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. David was the beloved son of the late David Carl Pickard and Martha Terrell Pickard, and brother to the late Jeffrey Pickard. He grew up in a nurturing environment that instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. These values guided him throughout his life and career. A proud veteran, David served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps, dedicating years of his life to serving his country with courage and distinction. His commitment to duty and country was mirrored in his everyday actions, as he continuously sought to uplift and support those around him. David was a devoted husband to his cherished wife, Janice Pickard, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love. Together, they built a beautiful life, rich in love and family. He was a loving father to his daughter, Melissa Nicholas, who was the light of his life, and a doting grandfather to six wonderful grandchildren. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Mackey, who, along with all who knew him, will forever hold memories of David close to her heart. David's kindness, humor, and unwavering support made him a cherished friend and confidant. A service to honor and celebrate David's extraordinary life will be held on September 15, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, located at 1501 West Maryland, N Little Rock, Arkansas. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by David are warmly invited to attend and share in the remembrance of a truly remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in David's memory to the American Heart Association. This gesture reflects David’s enduring commitment to helping others and his desire to support causes that improve the lives of people everywhere. David Lewis Pickard will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the profound impact he had on the lives of those he encountered. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide his loved ones, even as they mourn his loss. May he rest in eternal peace.
