With profound sadness, we announce the passing of David Lee Parr, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who passed away peacefully at his home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on April 1, 2026. Born on April 25, 1948, in Broken Arrow, David was a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone lucky enough to know him.
David was the beloved son of William and Lillian Parr. He is predeceased by his dear mother, Lillian August McNeil, and his brother, Roger Parr. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Terri Kim Parr, his treasured son, T Skylar Parr, his loving sister, Karen Frank, and her husband, Tony Frank. He is also remembered fondly by his sister-in-law, Debra Sholtess, and his close friends, David and Cathy Stacey, Harley Summer, and Susan Smith.
David’s life was marked by his unwavering devotion to his family and his country. He served with honor and distinction in the United States Army from March 1968 to March 1970 as a frontline medic during the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication earned him numerous commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Commendation, Combat Medical Badge, Bronze Star, and Expert Rifle Badge.
He was a man of many passions. David loved nothing more than watching Oklahoma University football games, playing a round of golf, or spending quality time with friends. His quick wit, humor, and generous nature were hallmarks of his personality, endearing him to all who met him.
David’s life was a tapestry of resilience and strength, woven with threads of love and laughter that will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. His spirit of generosity and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM at his home, located at 1709 N Aster Ave, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Family, friends, and all those whose lives David enriched are invited to join in honoring his extraordinary life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, a cause dear to David's heart.
As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing that the love and memories we shared with David will remain with us always, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart well-loved. Rest in peace, dear David. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
