David was the beloved son of the late Bernice Wickens and Walter "Uncle Wally" Hernandez, and dear brother to Anthony "Tony" Hernandez, who preceded him in death. Family was at the core of David’s life, and he leaves behind a large and loving family, including his first cousins Teryl, Laura, Teena, Darryl, Antoinette, Valerie, Gerard, Diane, Debbie, Sam Jr, Crystal, Yvonne, Tommy, and Herbert. He also leaves behind 45 second cousins, spanning from New York to California, a host of third cousins, and countless friends. Among those mourning his loss is his beloved partner, Tori Edward's, who stood by his side through joys and challenges alike. David's career was as diverse as it was accomplished, beginning with his days as a messenger in Midtown Manhattan, where he navigated the city's streets with youthful vigor. He later became an experienced dispatcher, a role that showcased his organizational skills. His most recent role as a Grip on movie sets in New York City was a testament to his love for the arts and his dedication to his work. David was a man known for his infectious laughter and his boundless generosity. Whether he was helping a friend in need or simply sharing a moment of joy, David's presence was a gift to all who knew him. He was committed to personal growth, always striving to become the best version of himself. A celebration of David's life will be held on August 1, 2026, at 12:00 PM. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Project Hospitality and all who have offered support during this difficult time.
