David Hollis

May 31, 1969 — April 20, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Hollis, a cherished father, brother, and friend, who left this world on April 20, 2026, at the age of 56. David passed peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family. David was born on May 31, 1969, in the quaint town of Slidell, Louisiana. From a young age, he exuded a warmth and kindness that would define his life and touch the lives of many. David was the beloved son of the late David Hollis Sr. and Martha Hollis, who predeceased him but whose values and love lived on in him. Throughout his life, David was a beacon of strength and resilience. He had an innate ability to find joy in the simple things and shared that joy with everyone he met. His laughter was infectious, and his wisdom was a guiding light for those around him. He carried forward the legacy of his parents with grace, embodying the love and integrity they instilled in him. David's enduring legacy is carried on by his cherished daughter, LaChandra Hollis, and his pride in her was evident to all who knew him. He also leaves behind his devoted siblings, brother Ken Hollis and sister Michelle Hollis, who were his lifelong companions and confidants. David's love extended to his grandchild, who brought immeasurable joy and hope into his life. The family will honor David's life and legacy in a private ceremony, cherishing the memories of a man whose life was a testament to love, strength, and dedication. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in David's memory to cancer research, continuing his fight and supporting others in theirs. David Hollis will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, his boundless love for family and friends, and his ability to make everyone feel special. His presence in our lives was a gift, and his absence leaves a profound void. Yet, we find comfort in the memories and love he leaves behind, knowing that he is now at peace, reunited with his beloved parents. May David's soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
