In Loving Memory

David Gordon Iscovici
January 13, 1970 — June 7, 2026
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of David Gordon Iscovici, a cherished husband, devoted father, and a dedicated public servant, who left us much too soon on June 7, 2026, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. David was born on January 13, 1970, in New York, New York, to Joyce Gordon Iscovici and the late Theodore (Teddy) Iscovici. His journey through life was marked by a deep sense of duty, an infectious sense of humor, and an unyielding love for his family and community.
David spent his formative years in the vibrant borough of Staten Island, where he graduated from Susan E. Wagner High School. He went on to serve the city he loved as an officer of the New York Police Department, ultimately distinguishing himself as an undercover narcotics detective. David's bravery and commitment were never more evident than in the aftermath of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, when he played a pivotal role in aiding New York City during one of its darkest hours.
A man of varied interests, David found joy in the camaraderie of his motorcylce club. His membership in this group was not merely about the ride, but about the friendships and bonds that lasted a lifetime. Beyond the badge and the bike, David was a man of simple pleasures; he had a passion for guns and knives, a penchant for watching podcasts, and an unwavering love for ice hockey.
David's unique brand of dark humor was a hallmark of his personality. He possessed a rare gift for making people laugh, even in the midst of adversity, and his presence could light up any room. He had an innate ability to find the silver lining and bring a smile to the faces of those around him during the toughest of times.
David's greatest pride and joy were his beloved wife, Danielle, and their five beautiful children: Joseph, Nicholas, Mia, Sophia, and Robert. Married for 24 years, David and Danielle shared a love that was resilient and true, raising their children with deep love and unwavering dedication. His legacy lives on in the hearts and lives of his family.
In addition to his wife and children, David is survived by his mother, Joyce and brother Daniel. He is predeceased by his father, Teddy Iscovici. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff at Mease Countryside hospital and the dedicated hospice personnel who provided care and support during David's final days.
In honoring David's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held for close family and friends. The Iscovici family appreciates the outpouring of love and support from all who knew David and asks that you hold his memory dear in your hearts.
David Gordon Iscovici will be remembered as a man of honor, humor, and heart—a true testament to a life well-lived. While he may have departed this world, his spirit and laughter will forever echo in the lives of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
