David Frank Rembert
January 6, 1949 — May 29, 2026
With hearts heavy yet filled with gratitude for a life shared, we announce the peaceful passing of David Frank Rembert on May 29, 2026. Born on January 6, 1949, in the vibrant town of Houma, Louisiana, David lived a full life marked by service, passion, and complexity, departing this world at the age of 77 with his family by his side.
David was the beloved son of Gerald (Cotton) Rembert and Evelyn Rembert, who instilled in him the values of resilience and generosity. He was a proud brother to Tyler Rembert and the late Karen Cook, with whom he shared cherished childhood memories. His journey through life was enriched by his role as a father to Ryan David Rembert and Danielle Denee’ Rembert, whose lives he touched profoundly. Together with their mother, Cheryl Rembert Chauvin, they formed a family tapestry woven with love, even through times of distance and challenge.
A man of many talents, David served his country honorably as a Vietnam Veteran, a chapter in his life that shaped him indelibly. Yet, it was in the kitchen where David found his true calling. As a gifted 5-star chef, he expressed his creativity and warmth through culinary arts. His dishes were not just meals; they were experiences crafted with love and the hope of bringing joy to those around him. Whether it was a family barbecue or a meticulously prepared feast, David's culinary creations were a testament to his artistic soul and boundless generosity.
Despite life's challenges, including a personal battle with alcohol, David was never without the love and support of his steadfast family. His brother, Tyler, provided unwavering companionship, while his son, Ryan, stood by him with loyalty and care, offering stability during the stormiest of times. David's journey taught those around him the true essence of perseverance and the importance of familial bonds.
David's legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren—Kaleb, Evan, and Ethan Beeson—who will forever hold his memory in their hearts. He also leaves behind step-grandchildren, Chase and Lexi Denson, and a dear niece, Nicole Rembert Soudelier, who will carry forward his stories and the lessons he imparted.
Preceded in death by his parents, his sister Karen, and brother-in-law Jack Cook, David now rests in peace, reunited with those who journeyed before him.
In honor of David's wishes, a private ceremony will take place, allowing his immediate family to celebrate his life intimately. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, cherished by the warmth of his spirit and the flavors of his enduring love.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shared in David’s life journey, offering support and love during this time of reflection and remembrance.
