It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David DiBrienza, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. David departed this world peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 76, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 19, 1950, in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, NY, David was a beacon of joy and laughter to all who knew him. He spent his formative years amidst the bustling streets of Brooklyn, where he developed a knack for storytelling and a penchant for humor that would endear him to family and friends throughout his life. David met the love of his life, Marie, with whom he spent a remarkable 52 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories, raising their two wonderful children, Matthew and Jennifer. David was immensely proud of his family and devoted himself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being. For 28 years, David worked diligently as an auto mechanic for the New York City Department of Sanitation. His work ethic was matched only by his skill and dedication, and he took great pride in his craft. His colleagues remember him not only for his expertise but also for his infectious humor and the way he could make any challenging day a bit brighter with a witty joke or a captivating story. David's passions extended beyond his work. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, often accompanied by his son Matthew. Their shared love for NASCAR races was a treasured father-son tradition, creating countless cherished memories. David's zest for life, combined with his love for adventure, made every moment spent with him a joyful experience. David's warmth and humor were his defining characteristics. He had an incredible ability to bring people together, making everyone feel welcome and valued. His laughter was contagious, and his stories were legendary, often leaving those around him in stitches. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will forever remember the joy he brought into their lives. David leaves behind his beloved wife, Marie, his devoted children, Matthew and his spouse Christine, Jennifer and her spouse Giuseppe, and his four cherished grandchildren, Allison, Sara, Brian, and Emma. His family was his greatest treasure, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness. A service to celebrate David's life will be held on June 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Scalia Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, an organization close to David's heart. As we say our final goodbyes, we hold dear the memories of David's laughter, his love, and his unwavering spirit. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
