David Bramlett
July 16, 1941 — July 4, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Bramlett, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. David passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on July 16, 1941, in Piedmont, Alabama, David was blessed with 84 years filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.
David was the beloved son of the late Earl and Dorothy Bramlett. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Gaines Bramlett, Gathern Bramlett, Orvil Bramlett, Judy Ann Bramlett, Larry Bramlett, and Sandra Garner; his dear wife, Evon Bramlett; and his precious daughter, Evette Bramlett. His legacy of love and resilience lives on through his surviving children, David Bramlett Jr. and Loretta Bramlett; his siblings, Patricia Getsinger, Peggy Haggard, and Joyce Bounds; as well as his devoted grandchildren, Laura and her husband Ben Clements, Leslie and her husband Samuel Wiggins, and Michael Holmes. David's joy was further multiplied by his seven great-grandchildren: Ryleigh Holmes, Kyleigh Wiggins, Skyleigh Wiggins, Aidyn Mcinnis, Akira Clements, Benjamin Clements IV, and Vanaille Clements.
David's journey began in Piedmont, where he graduated from Spring Garden High School in 1961. Answering the call to serve his country, he joined the Marines, proudly dedicating years to military service. After his service, David embarked on a career as a machinist, dedicating 24 years to Gulf Coast Machine and Supply in Beaumont, Texas. His passion for his craft led him to establish his own business, Bramlett Machine Repair, which he owned and operated with dedication until his retirement in 2023.
A man of many interests, David was an avid golfer who found joy and camaraderie on the greens, competing in numerous tournaments. His mischievous smile and bright blue eyes were a testament to his playful spirit, especially when he was up to something sneaky. David enjoyed sharing stories, learning new things, and cherished his regular calls with family and friends. He also loved to travel, often finding delight in trips to casinos where he could enjoy the thrill of the games and the company of others.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Joyce Bounds, Leslie Wiggins, Loretta Bramlett, and David Bramlett Jr. for their unwavering devotion and care during David's illness. Their love and support exemplified the spirit of family that David held dear throughout his life.
In honor of David's memory, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generous spirit and the kindness he showed to all who knew him.
David Bramlett's life was a tapestry of love, service, and adventure. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
