November 4, 1951 — April 30, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Boemmel, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, on April 30, 2026, at the age of 74, after a brief battle with illness. Born on November 4, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland, David lived a life characterized by love, laughter, and service to others. David was the cherished son of the late Andrew and Mary Boemmel, whose love and guidance shaped him into the compassionate and humorous man we all adored. He is predeceased by his parents, whose memories he held dear throughout his life. David proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1978, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. His dedication to his fellow soldiers and his commitment to his duties were reflections of his innate sense of responsibility and honor. His military service was a testament to his courage and selflessness, qualities that he carried throughout his life. Beyond his military service, David was a devoted father to Daniel and Chris Boemmel, who were the pride and joy of his life. His love for his children was boundless, and he always found time to support and guide them with wisdom and warmth. David's nurturing spirit extended to his extended family, including Nikki Goff, Riley Goff, and Christian Bennett, who he embraced as his own. In his later years, David found immense joy in being a grandfather to his two precious grandchildren. His eyes would light up with joy whenever he spoke of them, and he cherished every moment spent in their company. His grandchildren were blessed to have known his gentle spirit and infectious humor. David was known for his caring personality and sense of humor, traits that endeared him to everyone he met. He had a remarkable ability to make people smile even in the most trying times, and his laughter was a comforting balm to those around him. His kindness knew no bounds, and whether through a listening ear or a helping hand, David's compassion touched many lives. A service to celebrate David's life will be held on May 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Bruzdzinski Funeral Home, located at 1407 Old Eastern Ave, Essex, MD. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in remembering a man who lived life with an open heart and a generous spirit. As we say goodbye to David, we hold onto the memories of his gentle smile, his hearty laughter, and the love he bestowed upon us all. His legacy is one of unwavering love, dedication, and humor—a legacy that will continue to inspire and comfort us. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in David's honor, as a reflection of his caring nature and desire to help those in need. David Boemmel will forever be remembered for the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace.
