David B. Anderson

David “Dave” Bernhardt Anderson, of Natick, formerly of Southborough, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, with his loving family by his side. He was 77 years old. Born in Southborough, Dave was the beloved son of the late Carl S. Anderson Sr. and the late Christine D. (MacLeod) Anderson. He was raised and educated in the Southborough school district. Above all else, Dave was a devoted family man. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. No matter the sport or occasion, he could always be found cheering from the sidelines, proudly attending MMA, hockey, field hockey, football, soccer, volleyball, and lacrosse games. He was dependable, selfless, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He never hesitated to help one of his children with a project, chore, or anything else they needed. His family knew they could always count on him. From a young age, Dave had a passion for working on cars. Upon graduating from Algonquin Regional High School, he began his lifelong career as an auto mechanic, working alongside his father at the family’s Amoco service station. He developed an exceptional talent for repairing just about anything. He later owned and operated Dave’s Auto Repair in Roslindale and Corey Street Motors in West Roxbury, and eventually had the privilege of working alongside his sons—something that brought him great pride. Later in his career, Dave worked at Muzi Ford and Clark and White Lincoln Mercury, where he became one of the first Ford Senior Master Technicians. Throughout his career, he earned the trust and loyalty of countless customers who appreciated his honesty, skill, and unwavering work ethic. After many successful years in the automotive industry, Dave began a new chapter as a manager for W.B. Meyer, a library relocation company. His work allowed him to travel throughout the country, overseeing library relocations while exploring places he had never visited. He enjoyed spending time among the books and discovering new states along the way. His love of travel eventually inspired him to take a cross-country road trip to visit many national parks, an adventure that became one of his most cherished memories. Dave enjoyed golfing, often followed by a drink with friends at the Dudley Chateau. He took great pride in maintaining his lawn and gardens and found peace in nature. He loved kayaking, target shooting, spending time outdoors, and his most prized possession was his 1966 blue Corvette. His mornings often began with a cup of coffee while watching the birds outside, and many evenings ended with a glass of wine while watching MMA with his grandson, Jaidyn. He also loved grilling for his family and never passed up a good steak dinner. Dave leaves behind his loving children: Courtney K. Anderson and his wife, Silvia, of Jupiter, Florida; Shawn M. Anderson, Sr. and his wife, Nichole, of Upton; Larz C. Anderson and his wife, Debbie, of Medfield; Heidi Piekarski and her husband, Walter, of Concord; Hans E. Anderson and his wife, Rachel, of Falmouth; Gretchen A. Kilbourne and her husband, Barry, of Duxbury; and Britta A. Anderson of Natick. He was the cherished brother of Carl S. Anderson, Jr. of Southborough, and the late Carol R. Ayres. Dave was the proud grandfather of Cydney A. Anderson, Kirsten T. Anderson, Addison C. Anderson, Shawn M. Anderson, Jr., Cody J. Anderson, Olivia I. Anderson, Isabella J. Rave, Kayla A. Anderson, Krista R. Anderson, Sage F. Piekarski, Zola V. Piekarski, Colton A. Piekarski, Alexandra R. Anderson, Shelby C. Anderson, Anderson D. Kilbourne, Finian B. Kilbourne, Annika P. Kilbourne, Elin G. Kilbourne, and Jaidyn A. Anderson. He was also the loving great-grandfather of Ophelia S. Anderson and Sullivan M. Anderson. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, generosity, and steadfast presence. Dave will be remembered as a man of integrity, loyalty, quiet strength, and unwavering support for his family. He believed in working hard, keeping his word, and always being there for the people he loved. Those who knew Dave will forever remember the advice he shared throughout his life: “Always do the right thing. Your reward will come on Judgment Day.” He lived by those words and passed that wisdom on to the people he loved. His example of kindness, perseverance, unwavering devotion, generous spirit, and unconditional love for his family will continue to guide those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten. A Celebration of Life honoring Dave will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
