Born on January 2, 1993, in Durham, NC, David graced this world with his gentle spirit and unparalleled kindness. David was the cherished son of John and Jane Pendergrass, and his father's memory was dearly held in his heart. Surviving him are his loving mother, Jane Pendergrass, his devoted brother, Michael Pendergrass, his caring Aunt Mary Sochacki and her husband Walt, and his dear niece, Mary "Mimi" Sochacki. Though he did not have any children of his own, David was a beloved presence in the lives of his family and friends. Education played an important role in David's life. He attended Riverside High School, where he first discovered his passion for music—an art form that would become a lifelong devotion. Pursuing higher education, David graduated from North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor in Business Administration, a testament to his dedication and determination. Music was more than a hobby for David; it was an essential part of his being. An avid musician, he found solace and joy in every note he played, sharing his gift with those around him and touching lives with his melodies. His love for music was only surpassed by his love for people. David's kind and gentle soul left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. In keeping with his family's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor David's life. For those who wish to honor David's memory, the family suggests making donations to a charity of their choice. David Andrew Pendergrass will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. His legacy of kindness and music will forever resonate in the hearts of those who loved him.
