David Allen Tubbs, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on June 23, 1965, in Gulfport, Mississippi, David was the son of the late Philip "Lynn" Tubbs and Mary Lewis Tubbs. He was a man whose life was marked by service, laughter, and a deep love for his family and friends.
David proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of Desert Storm. His dedication to his country was matched by his commitment to his family, whom he cherished above all else. David is survived by his devoted wife, Susie, who was his steadfast partner and confidante throughout his life. He leaves behind his children, Christopher Sain and his wife Misty, and Shannon Martin and her husband Paul, who will continue to carry forward his legacy of love and resilience.
David's grandchildren, Bradley Sain, Gracie Sain, and Jamison Martin with his wife Chloe, were his pride and joy. He delighted in their achievements and cherished every moment spent with them. David is also survived by his brother, Michael Tubbs, and his wife Francis, and his sister, Mona Franzen, and her husband Michael, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends who will miss his warmth and humor.
Known for his quick wit and infectious laughter, David had a gift for making those around him smile. He was a jokester at heart, always ready with a clever quip or a funny story to brighten someone's day. A true movie buff, David could often be found quoting his favorite films or sharing his vast knowledge of cinema with anyone willing to listen. He had a particular fondness for racing car #87, a passion that brought him great joy and camaraderie.
David's love of sweets, especially Oreos and ice cream, was well known among his family and friends, who often joked about his seemingly endless supply of treats. His playful nature and zest for life were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A service to honor and celebrate David's life will be held on October 5, 2026, at Salisbury National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in David's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generous spirit and love for helping others.
