With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of DaShawn Andre Wise, fondly known as "Shawn" or "Shock," who departed this life on August 3, 2026, in Salisbury, Maryland. DaShawn was born on March 28, 1976, in the vibrant community of Salisbury, Maryland, where he was surrounded by love and warmth. Educated in the Worcester County Public School System, DaShawn earned his high school diploma and pursued his passion for barbering, obtaining his Apprentice License from the Maryland State Board of Barbers. His commitment to excellence in his craft was evident through various certifications he achieved at Asplundh Tree Expert Company, where he honed his skills as a Climber Trimmer Trainee, Climber Trimmer, and Groundman. DaShawn also dedicated his talents to the community, assisting in the rebuilding and remodeling of New Macedonia Baptist Church in Pocomoke City under the mentorship of Robert Thornton. DaShawn's life was filled with the joy of simple pleasures that brought him immense happiness. His love for barbering was not just a profession but a calling, one he embraced wholeheartedly, never turning anyone away. Beyond the barber chair, DaShawn discovered a hidden passion for cooking, sharing his culinary creations with those he loved. Driven by an unwavering faith, DaShawn rededicated his life to God, finding solace and strength in his spiritual journey. His profound belief in a better place and life beyond this world brought him peace and comfort until his final days. DaShawn was predeceased by his loving parents, three brothers—Tyrone Roberson, Antonio (Shanay) Wise, and Bryan Johnson—and leaves behind cherished memories with his five nieces, three nephews, and one great-niece, along with a host of aunts, an uncle, cousins, and extended family. He is survived by special family and friends who held a significant place in his heart, including Aunt Viola Trader, Mike Baker and Karen of Parksley, Virginia, Deonta Humphrey, Gary Collins, his family in Nassau, Bahamas, and Keisha Whittington. A celebration of DaShawn's life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, located at 917 W Isabella St, Salisbury, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring DaShawn's generous and caring spirit. DaShawn's life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of kindness and devotion to others will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate to be part of his journey.
