Darrin Dougherty, aged 38, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026. Born on January 18, 1988, in Wilton, Wisconsin, Darrin was the cherished son of Wendy Schwerin and John T. Dougherty. He was a beloved brother to Madelyne Dougherty and a devoted friend to many. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. An alum of Brookwood High School, Darrin graduated in 2006, embarking on a path that would lead to a fulfilling career in mechanical design. He pursued his passion at Western Technical College in La Crosse, earning an associate degree in Mechanical Design. Darrin started his career at Trane in La Crosse, where he rose to the position of Senior Mechanical Designer. A job he truly loved and was very proud of. Darrin was a man of many interests. A true collector of Lego. He cherished his time spent outdoors, peddle biking with his friends, kayaking, and attending concerts and movies. Family was of utmost importance to him, and he eagerly anticipated the annual Dougherty family fireworks. Those who knew Darrin will remember him for his genuine desire to see others happy. His warmth and kindness were a testament to his character, and his gentle spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. His beloved cat, Leeloo, was a constant companion, bringing joy and comfort to his days. Darrin was predeceased by his grandparents, Laverne "Bud" Reardon, Charmayne Reardon, and John Dougherty, as well as his cousins, Brett Fleischer and Katharine Wallace, and his uncle, Pat Reardon. He is survived by his parents, Wendy Schwerin and John T. Dougherty, stepfather Randy Schwerin, and his sister, Madelyne Dougherty. As well as many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins A celebration of Darrin's life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Wilton Legion Hall, located at 508 Walker St, Wilton, WI. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance. In lieu of flowers the family will take donations to go towards a scholarship under Darrin's name for Mechanical Design. Darrin Dougherty will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of love and joy, whose memory will be cherished always.
